    Fern Vine Basketry Museum

    Fern Vine Basketry Museum

“Fern Vine Basketry is an ancient art of our ancestors. The raw material is native to the southern region, where rainfall is abundant. The unique characteristic of Fern Vine Basketry is that if left to mature, its fibers can survive for hundreds of years without insects eating them. Therefore, it can be said to be Thailand's most valuable economic crop.”
This royal command from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on August 11, 1981, initiated the process of introducing Fern Vine Basketry to southern Thai people, leading to increased interest in the processing of Fern Vine, a locally available raw material. This has led to the development of Fern Vine Basketry, which is now renowned both domestically and internationally.

The Fern Vine Basketry Museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
